CAD Technician & Estimator

Position Overview

RecruitGo is looking for a  CAD Technician & Estimator who will play a crucial role in assisting and delivering fast and accurate technical drawings and Bills of Quantities to the internal sales team. This position involves working with CAD and BIM software, as well as using the Simpro ERP system. The primary responsibility is to assess client drawings and quote requests, create detailed layouts for hoists and other rehabilitation equipment, and ensure the final product meets customer requirements, industry standards, and technical specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Drawing Preparation: Assess drawings, quote requests, and site visit reports to create detailed CAD layouts in 2D or 3D. Use client-provided drawings or develop new drawings by incorporating BIM/CAD blocks. Update and revise drawings in response to client or internal feedback.
• Quotation Preparation: Build accurate Bills of Quantities from drawings, including lists of required components. Collaborate with the Installation Manager to assess labor costs and include them in draft quotations. Continuously update and revise quotations as needed based on customer changes.
• Pre-Construction Tasks: Upload drawings to common platforms (e.g., Asite, Viewpoint) and send them to clients via Adobe Sign for approval. Ensure that signed drawings are uploaded to the Simpro CRM system and update drawings as required.
• Ad Hoc Tasks: Assist with updating internal CAD & BIM blocks and manipulate CAD/BIM for product data sheets and marketing purposes. Participate in new product development CAD projects.
• Direct Reports: The position reports directly to the Installation and Service Manager.

Requirements: 

• Proficiency in CAD and BIM software.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards.
• Experience in creating and managing Bills of Quantities.
