NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

Job Summary

The Systems Administrator 1 supports our Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) DoD customer at the Naval Base in Norco, CA. The individual will be responsible for providing desktop and server support to the user community of government and contractor personnel.  Information assurance support will form an important part of the responsibilities.  The duties will include the execution of operational maintenance of IT systems and basic cybersecurity practices.  The individual will interface with a variety of personnel at all levels and across various governmental agencies to manage end user support requests across a variety of technologies.

As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these are, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor and team leads, and staying focused on the assigned tasks.  

Responsibilities

• The Systems Administrator will be expected to maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all routine Systems Administration functions to assure security requirements and operational goals are met.
• Support includes Windows, Linux, and VM based clients and servers, as well as assisting with common access cards (PKI support).
• Assist and perform installation of new software releases, system upgrades, and evaluation of new programs
• Assist with the maintenance of the security accreditations on the supported organization's IT equipment.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly status and progress reports.
• Help maintain security accreditation documentation.
• Maintain the Cybersecurity Workforce certification documentation 

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Security+ or equivalent certification
• 2+ years’ experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Suite applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Good interpersonal skills to interface with internal and external customers and vendors
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Ability to accept oversight and instruction from mentors
• Ability to get and maintain a secret clearance
• Basic knowledge of Windows (Server and Workstation) and VMware systems administration

Preferred Qualifications

• A+ Certification
• Network+ Certification
• Experience working with the military and/or government
