Primary Purpose of Position: The primary purpose of this position is to support efforts for the organization’s Risk Management Program, specifically inclusive of its Vendor Oversight Program as well as Compliance Risk Management. This position will support effective vendor risk management, Service Level Agreement (SLA) Risk Management, and other compliance related risk management for the overall organization as delegated.  This position is vital to protecting, mitigating, reducing and resolving risk (financial, regulatory, and/or reputational) to the organization.

 


Role and Responsibilities:   

Vendor Management

  • Assists with the onboarding, offboarding and monitoring of key vendors to ensure effective compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Supports the Vendor Oversight Program by helping to manage and organize vendor documentation in Cobblestone or other applicable platforms.
  • Assists with vendor risk management, corrective action plans, reporting and resolution.
  • Serves as a lead with designated vendors for ongoing monitoring and support.
  • Schedules and participates in Joint Oversight Committees, Annual Due Diligence Reviews, Performance Monitoring Meetings.
  • Establishes strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders of the Vendor Risk Management Program
  • Remains current with vendor contracts and scope of work across the organization and assists in cross functional communication across Business Owners and other appropriate staff of Vendor Risk Management.

SLA Management 

  • Supports compliance with all NCDHHS service level agreements (SLAs) across the organization and ensures that the organization maintains compliance with all SLA standards.
  • Works closely with business units within the organization, as well as, key partners who may perform SLA related services on behalf of the organization.
  • Shows proficiency in project management, collaboration, team building, negotiation, and conflict management and resolution.  
  • Uses tracker, dashboard or other applicable tools or processes to monitor and audit ongoing compliance with SLAs to meet organizational needs of visibility, awareness and proactive mitigation of risk to avoid liquidated damages as a result of non-compliance.  

Compliance Risk Management

  • Supports the compliance risk management program
  • Uses data and other resources to anticipate, track, monitor and mitigate potential risks to the organization for non-compliance
  • Works collaboratively with business partners to ensure compliance and proactive risk identification and mitigation processes are in place and effective.
  • Assists with any compliance risk management corrective action plans, reporting and resolution. 
  • Assist with performance of gap analysis to highlight risks related non-compliance, investigating reasons and recommending actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Serves as an active member of compliance committees/workgroups as designated.
  • Assists to identify, review, monitor and manage compliance.
  • Works with cross-functional subject matter experts (SMEs) across the organization to ensure effective communication and coordination of oversight practices to avoid duplication and maximize efficiencies
  • May assist with compliance risk management and related required training to ensure contractual and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Proficient analytical and organizational, problem-solving, critical thinking and conflict management/resolution skills

Education/Experience Required:  Bachelor's Degree in Business, Project Management, Health Care Administration, Public Health or related field required.  Two (2) years of health plan or health system experience required. Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of commensurate experience in lieu of specific degrees identified above is acceptable.  One (1) year of experience managing projects, timelines and deliverables required. 

Education/Experience Preferred:  Lean Six Sigma Certification, Vendor Risk Management Program Experience, Third Party/Vendor Risk Management Certification
