We’re seeking an experienced Software Technical Lead with a proven ability to manage and inspire development teams while remaining hands-on in technical delivery. You’ll play a critical role in transforming client requirements into high-quality solutions, driving collaboration across teams, and ensuring exceptional outcomes within defined timeframes.
About the Role
As a Software Technical Lead, you will work closely with NearForm’s clients on a variety of challenging and innovative projects. You will translate business and technical requirements into impactful software applications, guiding your team in their execution while ensuring alignment with best practices and architectural principles.
Your role encompasses all aspects of delivery, support, and deployment. You’ll lead high-performing, distributed teams across diverse locations, collaborating directly with clients and, at times, their internal development teams. The focus is on delivering best-in-class software while fostering a collaborative and outcome-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and Build: Design and develop scalable, cloud-based applications using server-side technologies, particularly Golang.
- Technical Leadership: Provide both technical and line-management leadership to your team, ensuring alignment with best practices and delivering exceptional outcomes.
- Project Delivery: Take ownership of project success by guiding technical direction, resolving blockers, and meeting timelines.
- Client Collaboration: Work directly with clients to translate business requirements into actionable technical briefs and reports.
- Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular updates to both client and NearForm leadership, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
- Mentorship: Foster a culture of excellence, upskilling team members through guidance on best practices, design patterns, and technical solutions.
What We’re Looking For
- Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead software engineering teams in complex, enterprise environments.
- Client-Focused: Skilled in working directly with clients, translating requirements, and managing expectations.
- Technical Expertise:
- Extensive experience with server-side technologies, particularly Golang.
- Proficient in gRPC Protobufs, PostgreSQL optimization, and complex query creation.
- Expertise in integrating with third-party APIs and managing two-way syncs.
- Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevOps practices.
- Quality-Driven: Strong experience in test-driven development, testing best practices, and maintaining high code quality.
- Architectural Knowledge: Mastery of design patterns, open-source tools, and operational concerns such as monitoring, security, performance, accessibility, and GDPR compliance.
- Communication Skills: Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Empathy and People Skills: Demonstrated ability to motivate and mentor diverse teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
