Senior Credentialing Specialist

Skilled Wound Care, a leading national surgical physician group servicing nursing homes for wound care, ostomy care, and minor skin care, is looking to hire a Senior Credentialing Specialist to lead the contracting and credentialing process for physicians and health practitioners.  

We are looking for a highly organized and experienced individual with in-depth, expert-level knowledge of the Medicare program. This role requires a strong understanding of Medicare regulations, policies, and procedures, and the ability to apply that knowledge to ensure accurate and compliant credentialing and contracting. Job Duties:

  • Oversee and manage relationships with a variety of health plans, with a primary focus on Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Expertly complete credentialing applications and contracts with health plans, ensuring accuracy and compliance, particularly with regard to Medicare requirements.
  • Guide and support our physicians in completing required documentation, specifically addressing any Medicare-specific needs.
  • Meticulously track the progress of credentialing and contracting applications, providing regular updates to leadership, with an emphasis on meeting Medicare deadlines and standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments to ensure business goals are met, while maintaining a strong understanding of how Medicare regulations impact those goals.
  • Strategically improve and streamline the provider licensing function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, with a focus on optimizing processes for Medicare providers.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in credentialing, with demonstrated expertise in all aspects of the Medicare program.
  • Must have direct experience working with CMS or a company contracted by CMS as a Medicare administrative contractor.
  • Bachelor's Degree highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to solve problems and identify solutions within the context of Medicare regulations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, especially when handling Medicare-related information.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex Medicare information to various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously, prioritizing those related to Medicare compliance.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Travel to Los Angeles 1-2 times per year may be required. Travel and accommodations will be paid.
