About the Role:

As Destination Development Manager, you are responsible for the development of Germany & Austria as a travel destination in order to grow business. This will include identifying new products and the procurement of land services (i.e. restaurants, tourist attractions, guides, unique experiences, motor coaches, transportation, etc.). You build strong relationships with suppliers and tourist boards on a local and regional level to deliver new products that are competitive and suitable for our worldwide customer base and business segments. You will initiate, plan and implement partnerships with tourist boards and suppliers.

Development of the product portfolio by identifying gaps and contracting existing and new land services applying the company’s market-leading procurement strategy and guidelines within the target destinations .

• Initiate partnership campaigns with local and or regional tourist boards to grow sales and increase marketing income.

• Negotiate exclusive agreements with suppliers and tourist boards (override deals / marketing contribution)

• Create and develop target-group-specific inspirational sample itineraries to support sales

• Create travel packages in cooperation with your line Manager and contracting colleagues,

• Set up and implement an annual marketing calendar in close cooperation with your line Manager

• Develop and regularly communicate product information using existing communication channels ensuring destination knowledge at point of sales (e.g. newsletters, webinars, memos and posts) .

• Align Sales’ with destination trends (supply side) and constantly look for new product ideas

• Support quotations and include new products and ideas where possible.

• Ongoing market and competitor analysis: Monitor market trends, product innovation and competitors to reflect in product development for existing and new target groups

• Ensure rate competitiveness of the contracted services (in line with market rates and set KPI targets) and take corrective measures in coordination with your line Manager

• Ensure destination knowledge transfer of the product portfolio to , Operations, MICE (where relevant) and Sales teams including planning and organising training and webinar sessions together with Procurement and Destination Services.

• Visit trade fairs, workshops and other events within the destination to build knowledge and relationships

• Ensure all business activities comply with relevant financial, legislative, legal demands and ethical standards of the organisation

• Promote sign up and usage of our internal online partner and e-billing tools

• Deliver on time reporting when needed

• Identify business risks and mitigate them

• Full understanding of various systems usages
