We are seeking a talented Supply Chain Engineer to add to our strategic sourcing team and help build a positive service and support experience for our internal and external customers.  This position is responsible for engineering support and product initiatives in the supply chain function of Capsa Healthcare.  Activities will include design for manufacturability, recreation of specifications for legacy products and close collaboration with supply chain professionals and current and future suppliers.

This position can be remote wherever Capsa currently employs. Preference will be given to applicants located near a Capsa facility (Columbus, OH or Portland, OR).


Your job will involve the following (other special projects may also be assigned):

  • Create specifications for current and new parts and assemblies for vendor base
  • Create and maintain testing protocol for acceptance testing
  • Evaluation of current manufacturing methods, material selection and supplier processes
  • Evaluation of capital expenditures (e.g. hard tooling vs. soft tool manufacturing), ROI analysis
  • Project management including resourcing efforts, tooling relocation, fixture development and lean activities at vendors and Capsa manufacturing sites resulting in superior quality, lower cost or service improvement
  • Communicate quality and ESG reports and defects to suppliers, facilitate supplier corrective actions
  • Perform failure analysis reports, as needed
  • Recommend and implement supply chain improvements, as well as documenting processes
  • Works closely with new product introduction to accelerate time to market for new systems and designs
  • Identify process bottleneck and implement solutions in a timely manner
  • Stay abreast of new manufacturing technologies and processes ensuring Capsa is procuring from a world class supply base with a focus on innovation and value engineering
  • Cooperatively provides hands-on job function training to co-workers as needed
  • Must understand and comply with Safety, 5S, ISO, and other corporate programs, initiatives and procedures
  • Dependable and consistent attendance is critical for team performance and productivity
  • Travel up to 40%
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned.

 What we ask of you:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical, manufacturing or equivalent preferred
  • 5+ years  in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong Solidworks CAD skills
  • Strong team skills and the ability to work effectively with internal and external groups as part of various initiatives.
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)    
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management and communication skills.
