Job description

BIT - Beam Institute of Technology offers technology-related courses to adults.

We work both with companies wanting to retrain their employees, as well as with individuals who are unemployed and looking for a career change or opportunity to advance their skills.

Training that we offer to companies is tailored to the needs of the client teams and held in a format of workshops to the short-term courses.

Courses that we offer to individuals are 6-, 9- and 12-month long and lay in the domain of web engineering and machine learning. We support our students with career and job search coaching.

BIT was founded in 2022 in Berlin: we are at our fast phase of growth. Our working culture is remote-first. Currently our team members are based in the EU.

We would appreciate the location of the candidate to be based in the Central European Time (CET) zone.


Responsibilities
  • Teaching the Excel (Google Sheets/Presentation) module as part of the "Data Analytics" course, according to the schedule: from 9:30 AM to 12:45 PM/2:30 PM Berlin time.

  • Lessons are conducted in German language, in groups of 10-20 people;

  • Conducting and assessing quizzes.

  • Reviewing homework assignments.

  • Participating in school events (masterclasses, open lessons, etc.).

  • Ensuring the relevance of the course in collaboration with the academic department.



Requirements

What is important for us:

  • Ideal spoken and written proficiency in both German and English.

  • High level of expertise in Excel, including proficiency in both basic and advanced features of the application. Experience using Excel for data analysis.

  • Ability to create pivot tables for data analysis and information extraction.

  • Understanding of data sorting principles, applying filters, and setting up filter criteria.

  • Knowledge of working with formulas and functions in Excel, including logical, text, mathematical, and statistical functions.

  • Knowledge of the QUERY and IMPORTRANGE functions for more complex data operations.

  • Proficiency in statistical functions and database functions such as VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP.

  • Ability to use the Explore panel for automatic report generation and data visualization.

  • Experience teaching Excel for data analysis, as well as practical experience working in this field.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to explain complex concepts and technical terms clearly and understandably.
