The GSMA Greater China Region focuses on the promotion and execution of GSMA global programmes, advocacy initiatives, and working groups in the Greater China region. We bring together industry consensus, increase global impact of our partners, and work closely with mobile operators and members in the wider ecosystem through our international events and platforms including MWC Barcelona, MWC Shanghai, MWC Las Vegas and GSMA Intelligence to empower sustainable development of the mobile industry.

About the Role

Assist the Head of Greater China with the smooth running of the GSMA Greater China business and this includes:

  • organising and co-ordinating the agendas and actions for meetings (inclusive of CEO roundtables and other regional meetings); and

  • be able to provide meeting briefings and minutes together with strategy engagement, Ecosystem Engagement, public policy, technology, marketing and convening teams if necessary;

  • Planning and co-ordinating all Greater China team activities within the region, and helping to assess their effectiveness.

  • Help to prepare and compile information and/or analysis on telecoms related issues within the region when required.

  • Providing support to Strategic Engagement, Ecosystem Engagement, Public Policy, Technology, Marketing teams in Greater China Region including projects and event planning;

  • Assisting Head of Greater China with budget management, and providing monthly report;

  • Personal assistant tasks for the Head of Greater China, including, but not limited to, diary management, email correspondence and organising both internal and external meetings 

  • Attending meetings and producing minutes and follow-up notes when required

  • Organising complex travel itineraries and travelling with the Head of China when needed

  • Other ad-hoc activities to support the Greater China team, as required.

About You

  • The successful candidate will be a good relationship builder with organisational and planning skills, able to build trust and confidence, and effectively execute on agreed deliverables;

  • Ability to adapt to different cultures and to work with cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams is important;

  • Knowledge of tech industry and /or government relations would be an asset;

  • Good writing, research and communication skills; Competent with Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel, and Power Point

  • Strong project management skills; ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and manage time effectively, sometimes working to tight deadlines; and

  • A team player, highly motivated to engage with all relevant stakeholders and be able to efficiently work with a wide group of internal GSMA colleagues and industry contacts , comfortable with working along senior executives and teams both internally and externally;

  • Excellent speaking and writing skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese and good at proofreading in both languages.

  • Experience in similar position a plus
