Lead Instructional Designer

Position: Lead Instructional Designer

Knowesis, a dynamic and forward-thinking company, is currently seeking an exceptional Lead Instructional Designer to join our team and provide invaluable support to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess U.S. Citizenship without the need for sponsorship, both now and in the future. Applicants without proof of U.S. Citizenship will not be considered due to the position’s security clearance requirements.

 The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:  

• Manage end-to-end instructional design processes for government training programs
• Conduct comprehensive training needs assessments for project requirements
• Design and develop learning materials aligned with adult learning principles
• Ensure strict compliance with agency training standards and regulations
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to validate technical content accuracy
• Create detailed project plans and manage complex training development timelines
• Implement quality assurance protocols for instructional design deliverables
• Deliver training solutions that meet 100% of contractual specifications
• Maintain project budgets within allocated financial parameters
• Achieve team productivity and quality metrics
• Continuously improve instructional design methodologies

Required Qualifications:  

• 10+ years of instructional design experience
• Demonstrated success in training programs
• Advanced understanding of instructional design frameworks
• Proven leadership in training development environments
• Strong project management skills
• Exceptional communication abilities
• Ability to work in sensitive, regulated environments

Required Education: 

•  Master's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field
