WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The director of Quality Assurance plays a crucial role in executing our ongoing SaaS software delivery activities, driving quality and velocity, and delighting our clients by building world-class software. This position must have quality assurance and test automation skills, subject matter expertise, and demonstrated experience in a lead role, and who is a quality-driven engineer ready to constantly challenge themselves by working on a wide variety of technologies and always striving to do the right thing for our customers. The role is responsible for managing all Quality Assurance processes at Real Time Software Solutions, developing functional test scenarios, process, function, integration, and acceptance testing. You will define and maintain test system configurations and perform test executions while writing test scripts for complex and integrated systems.
This role will work side by side with our product teams, Software, and DevOps engineers to launch new features focusing on security, scalability, resiliency, recoverability & and reliability.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
- Engage, improve, develop, measure, and implement processes and tools for continuous work to improve quality, delivery time, and lower costs and testing cycle times by leveraging best practices in manual and automated testing methodologies and toolsets to support product, DevOps, and development teams.
- Provide leadership, guidance, training, and mentoring to implement test automation across project and product teams and test engineers.
- Subject matter expert to define, coordinate,e and implement test automation strategy including roadmap, tools, framework & approach for optimal results.
- Work closely with product owners to understand future projects and identify capabilities required for both manual and automated testing.
- Organizes the execution of test scenarios that evaluate each software component and demonstrate the business condition being tested and the expected results. Define and publish key performance metrics for automated testing.
- Determine reasons for failures during test automation runs and communicate to appropriate stakeholders. Then, fix technical automation issues following change control procedures.
- Complete automation code reviews and ensure proper version control and configuration management of all automated test objects developed and test environments used. Ensure all mechanical testing framework, training, and development standards documentation is kept up to date.
- Work collaboratively with the DevOps team to integrate testing automation tools into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Cultivate a positive company culture that values cross-team collaboration, trust, and leading by example.
WHAT DO YOU NEED?
- A bachelor’s degree in software engineering or an equivalent combination of technical education and work experience.
- 10+ years of Quality Assurance functions and test automation experience for cloud-based SaaS applications.
- 5+ years of experience with testing tools such as Selenium and Cucumber for functional end-to-end testing, smoke testing, load testing, system testing, batch processing, user acceptance testing, regression, and test automation.
- 3+ years of experience in one or more languages such as PHP, MySQL, and SQL are a big plus.
- 10+ years of experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment utilizing the efficiencies of an Agile, Iterate Fast mentality in remote and multi-time-zone environments.
- Experience establishing automated frameworks using modern CI/CD tools for continuous testing.
- Experience in clinical research or Healthcare tech is strongly preferred.
- Experience in HIPAA/HITECH/HITRUST/PHI/PII and PCI DSS working environment.

QAI: Certified Software Tester (CSTE), Certified Software Quality Assurance (CSQA), Certified Associate in Software Testing (CAST), Certified Manager of Software Testing (CMST), Certified Manager of Software Quality (CMSQ)
ISTQB: Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL), Certified Tester Advanced Test Manager (CTAL-TM), Certified Tester Advanced Test Analyst (CTAL-TA), Certified Tester Advanced Technical Test Analyst (CTAL-TM), Certified Tester Test Automation Engineer (CTAL-TAE)
WHAT SETS YOU APART?
- 5+ years of experience as a hands-on lead/manager and a track record of shipping software on time.
- Experience in driving a quality culture across the departments, with a focus on test automation.
- Solid experience in functional testing and software best practices such as Behavioral-Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodology.
- Experience in API testing or Web Services Testing using SOAP, Postman, etc.,
- Experience with Rest-based services and React Framework-based front-end testing environments.
- Experience in testing or developing test automation scripts for cloud-based SaaS applications and mobile applications in a cloud environment.
- Experience with Gherkin Syntax preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to utilize data to drive decisions.
