Job purpose: 

As a Senior Software QA Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of web applications, APIs, and CMS-based websites. You will collaborate with QA Managers, subject matter experts, developers, and cross-functional teams to ensure that all deliverables meet the highest quality standards. Your primary focus will be on leading QA activities, ensuring compliance with project requirements, and providing valuable insights to help improve our overall QA processes. 


In this role, you will: 

  • Create and review test planning and test cases for the projects, primarily using Jira and Xray or testRail. 
  • Perform functional test execution, bug tracking, and reporting to ensure thorough validation of project requirements. 


Job details: 

  • Location: 
    • 100% Remote - Temporary Contract
    • Open to candidates based in Central America, Mexico, or Colombia.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CR Time Zone
  • Language Proficiency: Spanish: Native / English: B2+ reading, writing, and conversation


Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Co-responsible for the quality of projects based on the requirements and design specifications.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, providing updates on testing progress, issues, risks, and ensuring clear communication across all stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, ensuring they are aligned with project goals.
  • Test Execution: Write, maintain, and execute test cases/scripts, performing both functional and non-functional testing.
  • Create, manage, and track defect tickets, ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Create traceability matrix documents based upon project requirements.
  • Create checklist documentation based upon project requirements.
  • Performing functional and non functional testing.
  • Apply industry standard testing methodology, strategies and industry best practices.
  • Regularly communicate testing status and metrics, providing detailed reports to team members and management.
  • Continuously assess and recommend improvements to testing methodologies and QA processes.
  • dentify and communicate potential project risks early, offering suggestions for mitigation.
  • Support onboarding of new QA team members and offer guidance to junior staff, sharing best practices and knowledge.
  • Should be able to execute regression tests based on design specifications and requirements.
  • Expected to fully understand project life cycle and industry standards.
  •  Work effectively in Agile environments, participating in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.


Academic Background:

BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline or related field or equivalent work experience in Software QA.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Software QA Specialist, particularly in testing web applications, CMS-based websites, and APIs. 
  • Strong knowledge of Scrum and Kanban methodologies for software development. 
  • Proficiency in using tools such as Jira, ClickUp, Mantis, Confluence, or similar for task management and defect tracking. 
  • Proven experience creating and maintaining test cases, test plans, and using tools like TestRail, Xray, or TestMonitor. 
  • Extensive experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or other CMS platforms. 
  • Strong understanding of content management processes, including the creation, editing, and publishing of digital content.
  • Knowledge of cross-browser testing using tools like BrowserStack, LambdaTest, Responsively App or physical devices. 
  • Experience performing smoke testing, integration testing, acceptance testing, exploratory testing, and regression testing. 
  • Test case execution, bug reporting, bug tracking and follow-up.
  • Familiarity with accessibility testing tools such as Axe or BrowserStack and a good understanding of WCAG 2.1 guidelines. 
  • Strong experience in testing UI/UX consistency, ensuring responsive design across multiple devices and browsers. 
  • Familiarity with automating testing processes is a plus. 
  • Windows/MacOS: In-depth knowledge of operating systems such as Windows or MacOS. 
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate technical details effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and data collection skills.


      Nice to Have:

      • ISTQB Certification or other QA-related certifications are a plus.
      • Automation Testing: Experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
      • Experience with testing applications in cloud environments.
