.As the EMEA Payroll Specialist, you will be a key member of a global payroll team. You will be working cross-functionally across many time zones in support of Sonder’s global operations. The right candidate for this position will be an individual who has a natural intellectual curiosity, strong analytical skills, the ability to flex easily between tactical and strategic work, and the desire to drive process improvement.  

AT SONDER YOU WILL:

  • Process UK payroll in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, utilizing ADP products

  • Coordinate with external vendors to process payroll in multiple EMEA-based countries

  • Support and work with major core HR system of records

  • Process EMEA time and attendance

  • Ensure timely, compliant and accurate service delivery for EMEA

  • Contribute effectively both as a team player and individual contributor, taking initiative and with little oversight and direction

  • Cross-functional collaboration with business partners for process improvements and efficiencies

  • Partner closely with internal partners (Employee Experience / HR Ops / Finance) to provide our employees with a first-class onboarding and payroll experience

  • Assist in ad-hoc duties when required
     

WHAT WE LOOK FOR:

  • Previous direct hands-on UK & EMEA payroll processing experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge of French payroll and ability to speak French is a plus

  • Understanding of timekeeping regulations and processes

  • Knowledge of Time Keeping solutions such as Enterprise eTime, Kronos or Workday Time

  • HR records system experience (ADP, Workday, Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft or other similar in scale)

  • Intermediate or above skill level with Microsoft Office suite of applications especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio
    Basic expertise with Google Drives, Folders, email and sharing

  • Keen attention to detail, disciplined in self-review of work and ability to support payroll operations above and beyond normal call of duty, periodically and as needed, to ensure timely, compliant and accurate service delivery for EMEA

  • Ability to travel periodically if needed (domestic and international) for short periods at a time

  • Ability to self-direct, prioritize and work independently as part of a geographically dispersed team

  • Can effectively prioritize to meet multiple tight deadlines

  • Flexible and willing to work across multiple time zones, sometimes outside of the conventional workday

  • Proactively takes initiative and makes informed decisions 

  • Highly analytical, accurate, and detail-oriented. Is innovative, collaborative, and is not afraid to ask questions 

  • Can think strategically and act operationally 

  • Can manage ambiguity, risk, and changing direction of projects and strategies 

  • ADP iHCM, TMF, Workday, or other relevant payroll system experience is a plus
     

Bonus points if you have:

  • French payroll/legislation experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business or related field or equivalent 

  • Payroll certifications (FPC, CPP, CIPP) preferred but not required

  • Global Payroll / Time Project Management experience

  • Process documentation

  • Workday HCM/Payroll/Time exposure

  • Global Payroll solution exposure
