Job Title: Financial Services Risk Analyst

Compensation: $66,000 - $86,000 Salary

Location: Remote

The Job:  

The Financial Services Risk Analyst plays a critical role in delivering superior customer experience while protecting Buildertrend from credit, fraud, and compliance risks. Reporting into the Risk Management team, the Risk Analyst will review and remediate cases related to onboarding, underwriting, transaction monitoring and disputes. They will synthesize trends and optimize workflows & procedures. In addition, they will help optimize risk rules, review and improve operating procedures, and assist in analysis of the risk management efficacy.

What You Will Do:  

• Work underwriting and transaction monitoring cases by manually executing Buildertrend risk management policies and procedures – 20%
• Verify customer and business data using variety of data sources. Conduct enhanced due diligence adjudication as needed – 20%
• Assess in credit risk underwriting. Conduct analysis of financial data for credit underwriting in accordance to Buildertrend policies and procedures – 10%
• Clearly document the analysis and review decisions and communicate results to the client facing team members, cross-functional stakeholders and Risk Committee – 20%
• Analyze the efficacy of the current rules and rule sets across all areas of compliance, credit underwriting, transaction monitoring and portfolio reviews. Update rules documentation and procedural guides. – 10%
• Partner closely with Financial Management Business Unit, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Customer Success to deliver best-in class financial services experience – 10%
• Help define Buildertrend next generation of internal tools and systems to effectively manage risks with the financial services applications. – 10%

Who You Are and What You Need:  

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 2+ years of experience in payments industry handling back-office cases required
• 1+ years of small business or commercial underwriting experience required
• Familiar with financial statement analysis and basic accounting
• Experience creating policies & processes and refining operating playbooks
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Proven quantitative & qualitative analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills, able to explain nuanced issues to non-technical audiences
• Thrives in an entrepreneurial environment
• Hungry to learn and grow
• Team player
• Familiarity with payments processing framework, fraud and compliance management, credit underwriting, disputes/chargebacks requirements and collection processing
