We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Accountant to join our fast-paced, high-volume team in Rockville, MD. This position offers flexible work options, including hybrid or fully remote work, with occasional travel for quarterly department onsite meetings. The role is full-time, working Monday through Friday 8:30am-5:30pm. Pay range is $75k-$91k annually.

How You'll Contribute:

We take a "whatever it takes" approach, even if it's outside the scope of our usual responsibilities. The Senior Accountant will generally be responsible for:

  • Support the month-end close process by recording journal entries, including revenue, deferred revenue, reserves for bad debt/contractual adjustments, cash reconciliations, and allocations
  • Reconcile, review, and prepare balance sheet accounts for accuracy, completeness, and GAAP compliance
  • Review and prepare bank reconciliations; resolve bank/general ledger discrepancies pertaining to receipts from daily bank reconciliations. Due to the activity, cash is reconciled daily
  • Reconcile Accounts Receivable sub-ledger against the general ledger; investigate and solve any variances, ensuring accurate financial reporting between the Accounts Receivable (AR) sub-ledger (outside the accounting software) and the general ledger
  • Prepare consolidated monthly financial reports, update reporting software with monthly actuals
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures; support implementation of new accounting systems/modules
  • Partner with internal Executive Directors to provide requested ad hoc reporting
  • Assist in the implementation of ASC 606 and ASC 842 adoption
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budget; perform budget vs. actual analysis
  • Liaison with the external tax accountants in preparation of federal, state, and local tax filings
  • Assist in physician compensation modeling
  • Support and facilitate external audit


What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • 3-5 years’ experience in accounting
  • CPA preferred
  • Advanced Excel knowledge
  • Demonstrated experience with General Ledger account reconciliations including month-end closing processes and general knowledge of accounting principles; experience in revenue, cash and accounts receivables
  • Ability to communicate accurately and concisely and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with manager while facing change and new accounting strategies with minimal supervision
  • Must pay attention to detail and able to meet tight deadlines
  • Positive attitude, customer centric mind-set and willingness to go the extra mile to meet organizational goals
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Proven ability to learn and understand new software/accounting systems
