Job Summary/Objective
Partners with the company’s global management team and executes on Learning and Development-related activities that provide new employees with rewarding onboarding experiences, provides existing employees with engagement and development opportunities, and fosters a supportive and inclusive work environment. Partners with global HR representatives to facilitate engagement activities.
Key Responsibilities & Duties (essential To The Job)
- Creates and facilitates orientation and onboarding sessions for new employees, ensuring an exceptional experience designed to quickly and effectively set the new employee up for success. Delivers basic or introductory level employee training on an occasional basis.
- Helps evolve the company’s culture to enable a high performing workforce, by planning and executing on a variety of culture events, while ensuring activities are aligned with OEC strategy and priorities. Coordinates with global HR team to help develop programs and events to drive employee retention and engagement.
- Coordinates participation in company engagement surveys. Supports efforts to identify areas of opportunity for improvement, and develops and facilitates workplans to drive higher levels of engagement & retention.
- Writes, posts, and manages content of the company intranet site, ensuring all employees are kept current on important information related to OEC. Promotes a positive and inclusive company culture through communication of achievements, rewards, recognition, events, employee promotions, and other important company news. Supports Learning and Development leader in developing organizational communications from Leadership Team members.
- Administers OEC’s corporate recognition programs (company awards, gift cards, etc.) to drive higher levels of retention and improved performance outcomes by rewarding and recognizing individual and department contributions to the business.
- Manages OEC’s Glassdoor account. Monitors posted comments from current/former employees, and prepares and publishes responses on behalf of the company.
- Manages OECulture, OEC’s Diversity and Inclusion initiative, and coordinates and supports local and global initiatives designed to educate employees, drive awareness, promote open and respectful conversations, and help foster a sense of community and belonging. Coordinates Veteran’s Day Off for U.S.-based workforce.
- Assists with corporate learning and development programs. Assists in administration of OEC’s Absorb LMS platform and OpenSesame content provider. Administers the OEC Book Program.
- Conducts research, participates in special projects, and completes a variety of different work activities needed to help drive the business forward and fulfill Learning and Development’s goals.
Education
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required, with a focus in Human Resources, Learning and Development, Business Administration, Communications, or related discipline. In the absence of a degree, equivalent work experience directly related to the key responsibilities of the role will be considered as a substitute for the degree.
Experience, Skills And Key Competencies
At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in a broad range of program management and culture and branding functions, such as writing internal communications, planning and executing company recognition programs and activities, onboarding of new employees, and coordinating of engagement surveys.
Must also be able to demonstrate the following skills and abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills and ability to think creatively.
- Strong results orientation and attention to detail.
- Excellent public speaking skills in front of small and large groups up to 1,000 participants.
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to make sound decisions and recommendations based on consideration of facts, work priorities, resources available, budgeted dollars, constraints, and other factors and able to pivot and correct quickly when circumstances change.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work on events and projects in a proactive and self-directed manner.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, company leaders, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Exceptional time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Able to effectively work and thrive in a remote/hybrid work environment that has limited opportunities for in-person interactions.
Special Position Requirements
- Travel may occur, but is extremely rare.
- Must be able to adjust work schedule as needed to meet the demands of the job to support global time zones and respond to critical projects and tasks.
