Medical Director-Psychiatrist

Delaware
10-Hours Per Week-1099 Opportunity

 

Great moonlighting opportunity for General Psychiatrist or C&A Psychiatrist to serve in a Medical Director position assisting with policy and process development for the children’s behavioral health system in Delaware. 10 hours per week and will be processed as a 1099.  Majority of work done remotely, some occasional on-site may be required.

1099:  Hourly Pay Rate Negotiable

State:  Delaware

Location:  Remote, some occasional on-site

 

Essential Duties:

  • Assisting with policy and process development and implementation for the children's behavioral health system consistent with best practice and CARF standards. 
  • Provide psychiatric consultation to division staff and key stakeholders
  • Delivers training on medication, diagnosis, and other topics
  • Provides oversight of health care contracts including psychiatric prescribers and pharmacy consultants.
  • Reviews treatment service continued stay and discharge appeals and conducts quality assurance reviews of contracted prescribing services. 
  • The position may provide direct psychiatric services to youth in DPBHS operated facilities including initial psychiatric evaluation and medication management on an as needed basis.

Qualifications:

  • The Ideal Candidate should be Board Certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry. 
  • Graduate from an approved School of Medicine.
  • Possess a Delaware medical license which is current, active and in good standing.
