Title: Clinical Editor, Multispecialty topics

Support the Scientific Directors with the development of accredited educational programs and activities.
Responsibilities:
• Support initial edit needs for a diverse portfolio of educational activities in Multispecialty topics (eg, endocrinology, allergy/immunology, cardiology, nephrology), including collaborating with other Clinical Editors when needed to complete/prioritize deliverables on schedule
o Flexibility required to help other Clinical Editors with work overflow for other therapeutic areas, including Oncology/Hematology, Infectious Disease, and Neuroscience
• Track schedules for assigned programs and proactively communicate with Managing Clinical Editor, Scientific Directors, Program Managers, and other team members to meet deadlines
• Initial edit of all activities and deliverables (faculty slides, commentaries, transcript into text, text/slides, etc)
o Initial edit of slides and/or text to CEA styles
PowerPoint slides: format to CEA program template, rebuild data tables, adjust fonts, mock up graphics for design redraw, edit text
Text modules: edit transcripts to formal written style as appropriate; add/format reference lists and call outs when needed
• Condense and formalize language
o Fact/reference checking
Verify accuracy of data/information with original data sources
Remove/edit plagiarized text
Identify references when needed
o Identify/secure copyright permissions
o Add/complete front matter template (instructions for all online deliverables, eg, slides, text modules, commentaries, webcasts)
• Create breaksheets for multimedia modules as needed
• Draft accredited education introductory slides as needed
• Review material once posted online for accuracy
• Complete other tasks as assigned by Managing Clinical Editor or Editorial Director
• Work occasional evening/weekend hours aligned with timing of activities

Job Performance Measurements This position will be measured on:
• Achieve identified efficiency ratio %: Measure: % of Hours Required to Complete Activities vs % of Hours assigned for those Activities. Goal = 100%; Minimum threshold: 90% of Target
• Measure: % of Activities the employee is assigned that are delivered on or before the “to CMT” date in Mission Control. Goal = 100%; Minimum threshold: Greater than 85%.
Position Specifications: The ideal candidate should have:
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, oral and written.

• An ability to manage a demanding workload and multitask effectively among several ongoing projects.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage diverse tasks with a sense of urgency and commitment to quality. Flexibility is required regarding the work hours that may occasionally extend into evenings or weekends.

• Excellent judgment and strong analytical and problem-solving skills. A resourceful, “can-do” attitude is essential.
Qualifications:
• An advanced science or medical degree in a Multispecialty–related topic(s) (eg, endocrinology, allergy/immunology, cardiology, nephrology).
• At least 2-3 years of experience writing/interpreting scientific data or similar experience.
• Demonstration of excellent writing skills and attention to detail.
• Competence in using Microsoft Office applications (especially PowerPoint, Word) and online medical reference resources (PubMed, CDC, etc).
