Job description

At EBI we’re committed to providing deep technical, industry and commercial real estate expertise to help our clients navigate complexity and realize maximum value for their assets. For 35 years we’ve been helping investors, lenders, owners, developers, contractors, and property managers mitigate risk and optimize their built facilities for maximum economic, safety, and environmental value. We’re unique in our ability to deliver high quality, responsive services across the entire asset lifecycle, from rapid assessments, to advisory, to implementation and verification services, nationwide. Unlike other environmental consulting firms, we provide the full suite of commercial real estate and asset management services through to improvement and verification. Our experts leverage our proprietary assessment methodologies, benchmarking, regulation, and analytics tools across six core domains.

EBI is your environmental, sustainability, engineering and health and safety partner, nationwide.

Assess. Advise. Improve. Verify.

Position Summary

EBI is seeking a Senior Biologist to support client projects in the West Region. The successful candidate will assist in the preparation of environmental compliance documents, filings, and related permitting for projects primarily within, but not limited to, the wireless communications industry. The successful candidate will have a working understanding of the regulatory requirements of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Endangered Species Act, and other related federal and state regulations, and a real passion for Biological Assessments.

This position reports directly to the Technical Director, Biology, and is a work from home position with some infrequent on-site field requirements. Most of the projects will be based in the West and therefore the ideal candidate will already be established in this region when travel is necessary.

  • Desktop assessments and field surveys, including habitat evaluations, protected species and avian nest surveys, and wetlands delineations
  • Consultation with local, state, and/or federal agencies
  • Preparation of reports such as Biological Assessments, Environmental Assessments, and NEPA-related documentation, as well as permit applications

Qualifications and Capabilities

  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology, Environmental Science with a concentration in Biology, or a closely related field (e.g. Natural Resource Management, Ecology, or similar)
  • 2-5 years of professional experience in the environmental industry
