Summary: The Field Marketing Manager will represent the region as the liaison between marketing and the sales team. This position is responsible for management of the successful implementation of current marketing programs, development of new programming, along with overseeing sponsorships and agency initiatives as assigned in Illinois. The Field Marketing Manager will work on strategic brand building initiatives and manage new opportunities that align to the company strategy.
The position will cover the entire state of Illinois but will be primarily focused on the Chicagoland market.

Responsibilities
Implementing annual marketing plan
Work with sales team to successfully implement current programs in the market
Identify and build local programming to maximize sales in markets while keeping on brand message and operate within integrity of brand identities
Recommend retail marketing & sponsorship mix of tactics
Handle meetings and communication with wholesalers and partnerships
Audit all communication, including distributor made POS to ensure alignment with brand strategy and compliance
Contribute to the marketing plan for upcoming year
Work with key sales personnel and key DMA wholesalers to develop tools and programs to maximize selling opportunities
Collaborate with marketing team for POS, Creative, and Social tools/messaging
Seek to share learning’s and develop best practices and share across channels
Continuously stay informed on beer trends, competitive activity, industry trends
Assists in developing all support elements available to the market areas (includes brand programming, retail promotions, sponsorships, P.O.S, etc.)
Project management of sponsorships and event activations in respective territory
Budgeting
Works within sales and marketing budget within region and zone
Work with Director of Field Marketing, and ZMs in development of annual budgets
Tracks spending of sponsorships and activations in territory for department roll up
Adherence to all company and governmental regulatory policies
Marketing Representation and Program Communication/Sell In
Ability to understand and act on brand strategy, consumer targeting, and positioning
Understand each brands' positioning and strategy and ensure all local efforts align with brand positioning and objectives
Utilize consumer insights and sales analytics to create regional initiatives that deliver on marketing and sales objectives
Utilize information to influence sales decisions
Communicate and sell-in all marketing programming
Represent marketing in key priority market meetings and play an active role in key business meetings
For each program, develop proper sell-in material, including strategic positioning, marketing objectives, sell story, support data, timing and all specifics of each program
Ensure communication/sell-in of programming is done within the appropriate planning window with relevant parties (wholesaler, ZM/DM)
Develop and maintain positive, constructive business building relationships with internal team members, retailers, and vendors
Manage vendor/agency employees working on our behalf in assigned territory
Attendance at Sponsored Events, Wholesaler meetings, and Retailer Events or meetings as needed to ensure proper representation and execution
Minimum Qualifications & Preferred Experience
Bachelor’s degree with 4 or more years of marketing experience in a related role
Cross functional marketing background in areas such as brand, retail, channel, trade marketing and/or sponsorships is a plus
Experience in the Three-Tier-system/alcohol beverage industry preferred
Project management experience with ability to multi-task
Ability to think strategically and creatively to problem solve
Understands importance of brand building and brand strategy
Works well in both team environment and independently
Self-starter, entrepreneurial mindset to add value to team, marketing programs and outcomes
Experience working with and activating major sports leagues, teams or other high-profile partners in the sports, music and/or entertainment landscape
Highly developed interpersonal skills are necessary; individual must be able to interact at all levels within an organization, including the Wholesaler network and partnerships; skills should be grounded in a “team player” mentality, resulting in strong working relationships
Works well in a fast-paced, action-oriented environment where priorities change, and timeframes are critical
Requires strong written and oral communications skills with the ability to communicate well across all levels of the organization. Must feel comfortable in giving presentations with various audiences and sizes (distributors, retailer, sales team etc.)
Must have experience in and able to demonstrate ability to make decisions independently and recommend viable solutions to problems and issues
Must possess excellent organizational and time management skills
Needs strong negotiation and persuasion skills
Must possess computer skills which include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail; experience with or ability to learn new digital interfaces
Position works remotely but should be based in the Chicagoland market. The person in this role should be willing to travel, up to 30% of time within assigned territory.
