Index Analytics is seeking a Data Scientist to support Government clients in the Baltimore and Washington D.C. Metro Area. The Data Scientist creates value from data by using domain knowledge, statistical analysis, and programming to solve healthcare challenges.

 

Responsibilities

  • Build Machine Learning models and maintain the model development framework.
  • Build predictive models and apply advanced NLP techniques to analyze patterns and clusters in text data to address CMS business needs.
  • Implement machine learning pipelines using AWS and LLMs to develop scalable predictive systems and tools for analysis.
  • Provide insights through the combination of qualitative design research and exploratory data analysis.
  • Work in an agile environment with a team of data scientists.
  • Data mining using state-of-the-art methods.
  • Build predictive models, data visualizations, and tools for analysis.
  • Develop predictive systems and machine learning algorithms, Present model accuracy results in a clear manner.
  • Recommend solutions and strategies to address CMS business needs.
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • US citizen or Authorized to Work and lived in the US for 3 of the last 5 years. Must be able to obtain a U.S. Federal government client badge and pass a government Public Trust.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or relevant discipline required
    • Master’s degree or PhD in Data Science related field is a plus
  • 3+ years of experience as Data Scientist or similar role.
  • Experience with AWS cloud components including SageMaker, S3, Glue, Airflow, Databases (like RedShift, Dynamo DB, etc.), ECR.
  • Hands-on experience with data modeling methodologies to support API and Web Applications development Experience with Code repository tools like GitHub and automation with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, to manage code and testing pipelines.
  • Experience with Python, R
  • Subject matter expert on text analytics, and text AI tools
  • Strong background in NLP and state-of-the-art text models (for example BERT)
  • Working knowledge of Large Language Model (LLM), RAG-LLM and implementation on AWS
  • Experience with unsupervised and supervised machine learning techniques
  • Experience with common data science toolkits, such as pandas, NumPy etc.
  • Experience applying statistical methods and concepts, such as probability distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication required
  • Prior experience with Center for Medicare Medicaid Services or other Govt agencies is a plus

 

The salary range provided represents the estimated compensation for new hires in this position, applicable across all locations. Actual offers may vary based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and market conditions. Index complements its base salary offering with a competitive package that includes health and retirement benefits, discretionary bonuses, and reimbursement for professional development opportunities.
