Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Human Resources Business Partner Intern to join our dynamic HR team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of HR while supporting our organization's strategic goals and employee needs.

This is a fulltime internship (40 hours per week) for a period of 9 weeks during the summer.

  • Timing: The 2025 summer internship will begin Monday, June 9th and conclude on Friday, August 8th.
  • Hours: Interns should be able to commit to NORC’s 8:15 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. CDT business hours.
  • Compensation: The hourly rate of pay is $22.
  • Location: This is a remote position with the option for hybrid work if you live near one of our office locations.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist HR Business Partners in day-to-day operations and projects
  • Support the recruitment process, including job posting, resume screening, and interview scheduling
  • Help maintain employee records and HR information systems
  • Collaborate across functions to develop a chat bot for first tier employee questions.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
  • Assist in preparing reports and presentations for management
  • Support employee onboarding and orientation processes
  • Collaborate with team members on employee engagement initiatives
  • Assist in coordinating training and development programs
  • Contribute to performance management processes
  • Gain exposure to employee relations issues and resolution strategies

Required Skills

  • Must be a rising senior in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field
  • Strong academic performance with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both in a collaborative team setting and individually
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new situations
