FullStack Developer

Location: Longueuil, QC—Possibility to work from home #LI-Remote

mdf commerce Inc. is an international team of approximately 650 experts who develop a broad set of SaaS solutions to optimize and accelerate commercial interactions of its B2B and B2G customers.

Working in the GovTech sector for our new brand SOVRA, we are currently looking for a FullStack Developer to join our team. As such, the FullStack Developer will be proficient in all aspects of software development including implementing requirements, generating documentation, unit testing, troubleshooting, packaging and deploying solutions.

What will your main responsibilities look like?

In this role, you will be led to:

• Deliver quality software. You’ll have end-to-end ownership of what you build, from initial requirements reviews and architecture, to development and testing.
• Ensure solid test coverage for the code you write.
• Develop custom software on top of an existing base to meet a client’s specific needs.
• Working in an Agile-Scrum environment, you will be required to collaborate with multiple departments to ensure client specifications are being met.
• Remain knowledgeable of emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities.

What elements of your professional background will be necessary and useful in this role?

• Well versed in modern architecture and BackEnd software design, in JAVA.
• At least 10 years of experience in software development.
• AWS Cloud Platform expertise.
• Experience in front-end technologies and platforms, such as JavaScript, Ajax, jQuery, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap.
• Experience with the design and implementation of APIs and Microservices.
• Comfortable with large datasets, relational vs. non-relational databases, and SQL Server.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
• Excellent time-management and communication skills.
• Teamwork skills with a problem-solving attitude.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree.
• Excellent English and French language skills, both oral and written, due to frequent interactions with English and French-speaking internal and external colleagues and partners across Canada and the United States.
• Experience working with platforms that expose APIs and extension points for 3rd-party developers.
• An asset: Experience with ecommerce and/or retail technology products.
