ECPMF leads the Media Freedom Rapid Response (MFRR) in partnership with six other organisations, a programme financed by the European Commission. We are seeking a Press & Policy Officer to join our communication team and help publicise our work under MFRR and other projects, develop policy responses, and strengthen our advocacy efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Promote the organisation’s work by drafting and disseminating newsletters, press releases, interviews, and other outreach materials.
  • Coordinate and expand media coverage of the organisation’s activities, ensuring timely responses to press inquiries.
  • Develop and draft policy responses and advocacy outputs, including statements, open letters, submissions to international organisations, and mission briefings.
  • Support the communication needs of other ECPMF, NED, and MFRR activities, including events, missions, and protection initiatives.
  • Maintain and update content on the organisation's websites.
Your profile
  • Academic background in social sciences, journalism, PR, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • At least two years of professional experience in a communications role; experience within civil society is an advantage.
  • Proficiency with content-management systems, mailing lists, databases,  and Google Workspace tools.
  • Strong writing skills, including creating copy and proofreading/editing.
  • Proven English language skills (C1-C2); additional languages (especially German and Russian) are an advantage.
  • Quick and precise understanding of political issues and a strong commitment to press and media freedom.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience in cultivating relationships with journalists.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and resilience in daily work.

  • Individual training budget.
  • Possibility to travel as necessary.
  • A strong and highly motivated team.
  • Option for remote working.
