Job description

This is a remote position.

Scope

  • Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm Central with 1hour unpaid break
Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support our accounting team with day-to-day bookkeeping tasks and administrative duties. In this role, you will assist with maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring the smooth running of the company's financial operations. You will be working closely with the Bookkeeper and other departments to ensure accuracy and timeliness in all financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bookkeeping Support:

    • Assist with maintaining accurate financial records using QuickBooks.
    • Prepare and process journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
    • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
    • Perform regular account reconciliations (bank statements, credit card accounts, etc.).
    • Help with maintaining the general ledger and monitoring financial transactions.
    • Assist in preparing financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and profit/loss reports.
  • Administrative Support:

    • Manage and organize accounting files and documents.
    • Assist with invoicing and accounts payable/receivable processes.
    • Monitor and follow up on outstanding invoices.
    • Provide administrative support for the finance team as needed.
    • Coordinate and schedule meetings and appointments for the accounting department.
  • QuickBooks Management:

    • Help with entering financial data into QuickBooks and ensure all transactions are properly categorized.
    • Assist in generating QuickBooks reports and ensuring the software is up to date.
    • Support the Bookkeeper with any issues related to QuickBooks operations.
  • Communication and Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve financial discrepancies.
    • Provide information to auditors and support the audit process.
    • Respond to inquiries related to financial matters from internal staff or external vendors.


Requirements
Requirements:
  • Education:
    • High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting support, ideally with a focus on QuickBooks.
    • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
    • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
    • Experience with general administrative duties and office management.
  • Skills:
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Must be proactive and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
    • Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes is a plus.
    • Familiarity with payroll processing and tax filings is an advantage.
Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with additional accounting software tools beyond QuickBooks.
  • Prior experience in an administrative or office support role.
