Job Title: Legal Manager - Litigation

Schedule:

  • Full-Time, Remote
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (EST)

Job Description:
This is a unique opportunity to step into a leadership role, overseeing a high-performing legal team and managing complex litigation cases. The Legal Manager will lead and mentor paralegals and junior attorneys, ensuring efficient workflows, quality legal services, and smooth case management. This role is ideal for legal professionals with strong management skills and a passion for driving team success in a remote work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership & Team Management:

    • Supervise and mentor a team of paralegals and junior attorneys, fostering collaboration and efficiency.
    • Set KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  2. Case Management:

    • Oversee comprehensive case preparation, ensuring all cases are properly organized, documented, and progressing on schedule.
    • Supervise trial preparation, including exhibit organization, witness preparation, and finalizing trial documents.
    • Monitor and manage case deadlines and progress, providing regular updates to clients and senior leadership.
    • Ensure compliance with court rules, filing procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  3. Legal Expertise:

    • Provide strategic legal advice and case oversight, collaborating with attorneys to develop and execute case strategies.
    • Review and approve legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and client correspondence.
    • Conduct legal research and offer guidance on complex legal issues.
  4. Process Improvement:

    • Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency and client satisfaction.
    • Identify and mitigate legal risks while recommending solutions to enhance case outcomes.
  5. Client & Stakeholder Relations:

    • Act as a liaison between clients, opposing counsel, courts, and the legal team to ensure smooth case progression.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive client information.




Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree or equivalent legal education; active bar membership is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a legal environment, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory capacity.
  • Strong background in litigation, particularly family law, with experience in multi-jurisdictional cases highly valued.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw) and case management software (e.g., Clio).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and third parties.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to state-specific and county-specific legal procedures.
  • High-speed internet connection and a professional remote work setup.
