The Content Manager in China is responsible for the individual success of each specialist in their team in driving high-quality submissions to Research Topics in line with targets by the Journal Manager 

 

They advise the Journal Managers on regional acquisition strategies in line with journal and company priorities, and are experts in supporting their specialists to develop specialty sections to regional leaders in their field. 

Responsibilities:

  • Supports specialists to develop Specialty Sections to regional leaders in their field and to execute on growth strategies for their long-term success.  

  •  Hires and onboards specialists, training them on regional specificities of their role.  

  • Is responsible for performance management of the Specialists according to feedback from the Journal Manager and covers for longer absences or during turnover as needed. 

  • Proposesprocess optimizations and drives continuous improvement from a regional perspective, as well as ensures alignment to policies, and adoption of strategies and initiatives among specialists. 

  • Advises the Journal Manager on regional strategies and supports editor recruitment and engagement as well as journal promotion as needed, liaising with the local marketing team on effective outreach.

  • Strong people management skills to motivate and lead a team towards their objectives and targets 

  • Relationship building and teamwork skills 

  • Proven experience in process optimisation to drive continuous improvement initiatives, and a proficient level of understanding of processes and operations 

  • Experienced problem-solver 

  • Critical thinking skills and ability to put in place strategic plans into action 

  • Knowledge and experience in the publishing industry 

  • Experienced in a customer-facing or sales role to enable effective team coaching on providing a great service to our customers 

  • Target-driven individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
