Director of Engineering - Static Sealing Solutions

Responsibilities:

• Manages the global engineering organization of the static sealing solutions product segment. Establishes and maintains the budget, manages/supports achievement of the segment technology road map, defines design and certification requirements of the products in support of product commercialization, supports sales achievement through design, quotation and services support and sales tool development (example: configurators).
• Leads others to solve unique and highly complex problems which have a significant impact on innovation and a broad impact on the business. Manages the performance and potential review processes for all direct reports.
• Anticipates business challenges and/or regulatory issues, reviews and recommends products/services and process improvements to the board of the business group.
•  Looks beyond existing methodologies and the own discipline to define and resolve highly complex problems.
• Leads or supports large projects/initiatives that impact the business on an international/global scale.
• Internal and external thought leader influencing change and advancement of the industry and/or profession.
• Significantly contributes to the development of the functional strategy (e.g. R&D, Manufacturing, Sales) of the product segment.
•  Impacts the direction and resource allocation for program, project or services; works within general functional policies and industry guidelines.

Qualifications:

• 15+ years of practical engineering experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience.    
• BSME required.  Master’s degree or Professional Engineering Licensed preferred.
• Good people management skills.
• Communicates highly complex ideas, anticipates potential objections and persuades others at senior management levels to adopt a different point of view Results driven - must be able to set, monitor and appropriately manage the achievement of technical targets.
