What We’re Looking For

The Research and Insights (R&I) Team is a multidisciplinary group within the Research and Design organization under R&D. We are looking for a seasoned qualitative product researcher to join our forward-thinking team of insight enthusiasts. This role will engage with other insight-centric disciplines to execute rigorous, high-impact research. Reporting to the Head of Research and Insights, you will join a team of professionals in CX, market research, operations, and product research.

Our team is pivotal in shaping product, design, marketing, and broader business strategies across the organization, and we identify opportunities that directly influence company direction. As part of our innovative team, you’ll have the opportunity to be the voice of authority on qualitative research by conceptualizing, driving, and synthesizing strategic research efforts across various critical business areas. You'll align cross-functional partners around a unified, insights-driven perspective by leveraging a multidisciplinary approach and triangulating across company data points. Your influence will ensure that strategic initiatives are grounded in a well-rounded, evidence-based point of view.

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Driving tandem strategic research efforts across organizations
  • Deploying qualitative research to improve user and opportunity understanding
  • Elevating and showcasing the value and execution of qualitative methodologies
  • Delivering powerful storytelling to advance product transformation
  • Devising research and insight roadmaps to govern cross-functional execution
  • Triangulating across multiple internal and external data points
  • Inspiring and improving democratized research execution
  • Identifying and driving fruitful partnerships with new business stakeholders
  • Adapting and socializing insights for optimum socialization and scale
  • Partnering with the multidisciplinary R&I Team to advance practice and impact

We’d love to hear from people with

  • 6+ yrs leveraging qualitative methodologies to drive product or user research in R&D, ideally in B2B or B2C SaaS
    • We will discuss role levels (senior +) based upon the candidate’s professional background
  • Comfortable leading strategic research impacts in net new spaces
  • Experience conceptualizing, deploying, and overseeing multi-effort research initiatives, including governance of democratized research
  • History of research-driven business outcomes
  • Expertise in a broad range of qualitative research methodologies, with a deep understanding of when and how to apply different approaches
  • Advanced skills in stakeholder management, with demonstrable experience driving alignment with senior cross-functional stakeholders
  • Preference for degrees or experiences showcasing deep understanding of human behavior and/or business

Ottawa Location - SurveyMonkey believes in-person collaboration is valuable for building relationships, fostering community, and enhancing our speed and execution in problem-solving and decision-making. As such, you will be required to work from a SurveyMonkey office for up to 1 day every other week.
