The Travel Coordinator coordinates corporate travel required in a locum tenens assignment including air, hotel and car arrangements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with both internal and external customers to book travel, housing, and local transportation.
- Demonstrates strict attention to detail.
- Exercises excellent time management to ensure bookings are completed timely.
- Negotiates with travel partners and travelers.
- Works with moderate supervision.
- Develops and maintains excellent communications and works effectively with clients/physicians, colleagues and others during the performance of assigned responsibilities.
- Prioritize work using the VISTA application, and maintain complete, accurate records of all activities.
- Research best travel options that meet both client budget and provider needs.
- Creates correspondence with good spelling and punctuation.
- Makes and takes calls with providers, clients and travel partners.
- Keeps computer files current and accurate.
- Books travel in travel software. (Sabre GDS or Concur Travel).
- Project desired company image and demeanor and support the company’s mission.
- Participates in on-call rotation to address after hour travel emergencies.
- Other duties and special projects as may be assigned.
REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service preferred.
- Some post high school education with emphasis in business communications, or equivalent.
- At least two years corporate travel experience with strong GDS skills: Sabre preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to use sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through use of the telephone, email, video conference and face to face contact
- Ability to use manual dexterity, visual acuity and hearing acuity to effectively use and operate office related equipment such as but not limited to a computer, copier, scanner, camera, phone, headset, keyboard and mouse
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time at a keyboard and workstation with low periods of reaching and standing
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times
