Job description

We are Covestro. We are curious. We are courageous. We are colorful. We refine chemical material solutions with game-changing products. Let us empower you to push boundaries. Join us and our 18.000 colleagues now and together we will make the world a brighter place.

Are you a skilled and passionate Account Representative with a focus on sales and customer relationships? Covestro is looking for you!

Our UVR department at Covestro focuses on the development and production of UV-curable resins. These resins are specialty materials that cure (harden) quickly when exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light, offering efficient, high-performance solutions for various applications, such as coatings, adhesives, and fiber optic cable coatings.

As an Account Representative UVR EMLA at Covestro, you will be instrumental in translating and implementing our UVR strategy within your customer portfolio, supporting regional growth and customer loyalty.

In this role, you will manage account planning, sales tactics, and relationship-building to drive profitable business results.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Sales Implementation:

  • Support the regional UVR Strategy from a sales perspective by developing existing customer accounts, from local to international, within the defined scope.
  • Identify long-term business opportunities with current customers, driving upselling through direct engagement and aligning key stakeholders with account needs.
  • Maintain and update customer opportunities in CRM to support ongoing relationship management.

Account Planning and Market Analysis:

  • Develop an annual plan of sales activities for each customer, using historical trends and future projections from cross-functional teams.
  • Monitor account plans, analyse key performance indicators, and implement corrective actions to meet planned results.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and manage robust relationships with customer accounts, coordinating commercial and technical activities while organizing regular review meetings both internally and with the customer.
  • Lead strategic meetings involving high-level management as needed to strengthen partnerships.
  • Focus on developing both existing and new customers to expand the customer base and deepen relationships, ensuring continued business growth and satisfaction.

Contract Negotiation and Sales Execution:

  • Conclude contract and pricing agreements, representing the legal billing entity and adhering to established pricing processes and tools.
  • Implement and manage customer-focused projects with a priority on key products, processes, and innovation to enhance Covestro’s UVR offerings.
  • Drive sales execution by identifying opportunities to develop relationships further with both new and established customers.

Market Development and Opportunity Identification:

  • Track market trends and unmet needs to identify new opportunities and growth potential, transforming them into profitable business in line with the regional UVR strategy.

Value Added to Company Success: Position Covestro as a leading partner in specialty products and services, fostering competitive advantage and supporting growth in high-margin specialty products. Translate the industry sector strategy into actionable results, monitoring outcomes and recommending adjustments as needed.

WHO ARE YOU?

  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business science or bring at least 5 years of commercial experience.
  • You have a minimum of 3 years in technical sales or customer service within the chemical industry.
  • You possess strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • You are proficient in English (fluency required), with additional regional (Dutch) language skills as a plus.
  • You are flexible, thrive in a client-facing role, and spend most of your time at customer locations. Your base can be Waalwijk, home-based, or elsewhere in the Netherlands, with frequent travel as part of the job.
