About The Role
The Product Marketing Manager (PMM) will report to the VP of Marketing of SPG and act as the bridge between SPG’s Centralized Marketing Team and SPG’s Life & Annuity Division. The PMM will have shared responsibilities with both:
SPG’s Centralized Marketing Team – attending Marketing meetings, training, and contributing to any marketing initiatives set and defined by SPG’s leadership as needed.
The Life & Annuity Division – The DMM will play a key role meeting with the Division’s leadership team to identify top priority initiatives for the Division including content development, market research, and executing a variety marketing deliverables across digital and print channels to enhance brand awareness, generate leads, and support sales growth within the Life & Annuity Division.
This role will be pivotal in driving go-to-market strategies, supporting product positioning, and ensuring cohesive marketing efforts for life and annuity products. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 7 years of experience in product marketing, preferably within the Life & Annuity insurance space or insurance industry.
This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, creativity and extensive experience in the Life & Annuity space to create a variety of sales and marketing collateral and creative content to tell the story, value proposition and differentiators of the Life & Annuity Division.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute product marketing strategies to support the life and annuity product portfolio.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and opportunities.
- Collaborate with product development, sales, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on product positioning and messaging.
- Create compelling marketing materials, including brochures, presentations, web content, and training materials tailored to various audiences (advisors, clients, and internal teams).
- Drive go-to-market planning, product launches, and promotional campaigns to maximize reach and engagement.
- Analyze campaign performance metrics and refine strategies to improve ROI and effectiveness.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for life and annuity products, ensuring all communications reflect brand standards and regulatory compliance.
- Work closely with the Life & Annuity Division leadership to identify content creation needs and priorities.
- Thought Leadership - responsible for creating of compelling content that communicates the value of the Life & Annuity Division’s products and services to be repurposed across multiple channels.
- Manage content for Life & Annuity’s website(s), brochures, whitepapers, case studies, and client testimonials. Develop strategies to capitalize on HUB account and other national accounts.
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure seamless integration between marketing efforts and sales processes.
- Track and analyze marketing performance using key metrics (e.g., leads generated, website traffic, conversion rates).
- Prepare regular reports for senior leadership on marketing initiatives and outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in product marketing,
- Strong understanding of life and annuity products, distribution channels, and customer segments.
- Excellent communication and project management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience in developing creative marketing strategies and leveraging digital marketing channels.
- Experience with marketing automation platforms and CRM systems.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully managing complex marketing projects.
- Exceptional skills working on a hybrid/remote working environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $85,000 to $110,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
