Overview

Summary:

Goldbelt Professional Services, LLC is seeking an Epidemiologist to support the Office of Readiness and Response, Division of Readiness and Response Science. The position will be working at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Roybal Campus in Atlanta, GA. The CDC is the nation's premier health promotion, prevention, and preparedness agency. The Epidemiology Data Manager will report to Goldbelt Professional Services leadership to ensure the execution of timely, high-quality deliverables for the client.

Hybrid position. Will work on-site in Atlanta, GA 1 or 2 days a week.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Run reports, queries, and analysis in existing CDC emergency response systems (REDCap, Excel or other approved CDC statistical programs) and prepare reporting metrics.
  • Conduct analyses and write reports for dissemination in peer-reviewed journals and MMWR.
  • Create and run R or SAS programs to support analytics.
  • Write methods and results as part of manuscript development to communicate important findings to the scientific community as well as to the public.
  • Perform analysis to develop fully attributed logical and physical information (data) and business process models following defined methodologies.
  • Maintain and review database change logs
  • Perform surveillance system quality control and submit reports to jurisdictions.
  • Ensure data entry, completeness, and quality.
  • Provide recommended changes to analytic and/or epidemiologic approaches.
  • Maintain a data dictionary for all data files used to create reports; provide quarterly reports to the CDC team.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
  • Provide background information, answer questions, provide updates to stakeholders & partners, about the data effort via phone calls, emails, and meetings.
  • Provide expertise in information modeling and requirement analysis.
  • Gather requirements using facilitation techniques to collect and define data for analytic purposes.
  • Provide training and support on various reports and projects.
  • Manage the smooth flow of reporting and data exchange through compilation of daily bullets and key updates.
  • Collaborate with Data Management Team to assist with data collection and provide quality checks.
  • Perform other tasks as deemed necessary by leadership and/or task leads.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication in interpersonal exchanges.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently, be solution-oriented, motivated, and committed to customer and company success.
  • Ability to navigate shifting commitments from fast-paced report generation to far-reaching project deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Public Health, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis and/epidemiology.
  • Exceptional collaborative skills with great judgment, initiative, and communication skills.
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Computer Science, Statistics, or health-related field.
  • Previous experience working with the CDC.

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $98,000 annually.
