Summary
The Administrative Residency is a planned, individualized learning experience with objectives of the residency varying from fellow to fellow, however, there are well defined general objectives established by the University, for the fellow, the health care system and the University. Roles and responsibilities are defined in the Handbook developed by the University. The cornerstone of professional education for a career in health administration is a learning process that couples classroom didactic and field experience.
**Remote - candidates living within BSMH markets/service areas are preferred and can expect aspects of the experience to be in-person based on project**
Employment Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required, and enrolled in the MHA, MBA, MPH, or other graduate school program.
- Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel and email systems.
- Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, discretion and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently, retain flexibility and maintain composure under pressure.
- Bring a proactive, inquisitive approach to the job.
- Proven background in maintaining schedules and meeting deadlines an absolute.
- Occasional evening, weekend work and travel are required.

- Demonstrates ability to integrate didactic and field experience through a high level of performance in order to complete a required Administrative Resident Management Project.
- Endeavors to make a meaningful contribution to the Bon Secours Mercy Health Health System, and understands how his/her work supports the mission and strategy of the system.
- Demonstrates proficiency and understanding in key Bon Secours Mercy Health priorities and supports the strategic objectives.
- Communicates with all levels of the system, sharing opportunities, resources, tools, ideas, and proven processes and improvements.
- Maintains confidentiality
- When appropriate, attends Executive Management Team meetings, Board Meetings,
- Staff Meetings and other meetings as identified by the Preceptor.
- Participates in conferences, training and learning selected by the Bon Secours Mercy Health System, Inc.
- Conducts a high level of research and analysis.
- Will be asked to prepare presentations, develop agendas and document meetings through minutes and reports.
- Will be asked to make presentations.
- Conduct all interactions in a professional manner.
