Job Summary
The Corporate Counsel will report directly to Employbridge's Senior Counsel, Litigation and Compliance, and will be responsible for providing legal counsel and advice to internal staff regarding all aspects of employment law and labor law.
Your Role & Responsibilities
- Demonstrate customer service focus by building sustainable relationships with internal and external customers through proactive and interactive communication.
- Excellent customer service skills including ability to react appropriately in stressful situations and deal with difficult customer situations diplomatically.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Advise on the application of policies, procedures, laws, and regulations to specific factual situations.
- Work with Employbridge's human resources department and business units on strategies for managing risk around employment matters, including discipline, terminations, harassment, discrimination and wage and hour compliance.
- Conduct ongoing reviews and development of, and ensure compliance with, Employbridge's employment policies.
- Manage Employbridge's responses to state and federal fair employment practice claims, including EEOC and DOL claims.
- Demonstrate ability to analyze and interpret state and federal regulations and contract requirements and disseminate information in a comprehensible form to internal business partners and clients.
- Oversee and manage litigation related to Employbridge's employment and labor practices.
- Handle other in-house counsel-related matters.
Preferred Education & Experience
- Require 5 years of relevant legal experience in labor and employment law.
- Law degree from an accredited law school, current license to practice law, and active and in good standing membership with a state bar.

- Possesses in depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations, including Americans with Disabilities Act, Family Medical Leave Act, EEO laws, wage and hour and other federal, state and local laws affecting the employer-employee relationship.
- Has good judgment and ability to clearly and effectively articulate reasoned recommendations. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, juggle multiple priorities and work with various stakeholders.
- Able to deliver proactive and practical counseling, training, and support to business and corporate units.
- Experience in managing outside counsel and developing and implementing successful case strategies.
The anticipated annual base salary for this position in the US is $110,000 to $140,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
