Human Resources Business Partner

Salary Range

Human Resources Business Partner, Grade 10, $76,020.39 - $106,428.53 per fiscal year, commensurate with experience.

Senior Human Resources Business Partner, Grade 12, $87,035.75 - $121,850.05 per fiscal year, commensurate with experience.

Job Description Summary

This position advises on HR policy and assists with implementation of HR procedures and processes. Works directly with the organization's leadership to develop and direct an HR agenda that closely supports the organizational goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Help develop procedures for an area of the organization and monitor their implementation.
  • Contribute to the drafting of HR frameworks and tools for recruitment, performance management, development, career and succession planning, compensation and benefits, diversity, employee onboarding and offboarding, and retention of talent, within an area of expertise, ensuring compliance with specified design principles, internal policies, and external legal requirements.
  • Enable the attraction, development, and retention of talent at a sustainable cost.
  • Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving queries and issues and referring very complex or contentious issues to others.
  • Deliver complex analyses of HR data; identify key trends and contribute to the creation of HR insights that enable the diagnosis of business issues, enhancement of employee engagement, and/or improvement of business performance.
  • Provide advice and guidance to managers in developing, documenting, and communicating solutions (including disciplinary action) for individual employee relations cases; support managers at formal hearings.
  • Contribute to the development and testing of HR data collection forms or questionnaires in a specific area of expertise to ensure the collection of relevant data in line with defined requirements.
  • Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
  • Build effective working relationships within the internal client organization, delivering high-quality professional services with guidance from senior colleagues.
  • Work on attracting, shortlisting, selecting, and appointing suitable candidates for mid-level jobs (either permanent or temporary) within an organization.
  • Ensure the hiring and onboarding of new employees to the organization.
  • Contribute to the creation of recruitment campaigns; identify the characteristics of key candidate target groups; propose channel and media selections and messaging content; design events; draft communications content and agency briefings.
  • Carry out online research and telephone interviews and review career histories to validate applications for senior management and executive roles and to screen out those that do not meet key criteria.
  • Contribute to the creation of future talent recruitment campaigns; propose campaign messaging based on analysis of values and aspirations of graduates/school leavers; make evidence-based proposals for channel and media selection (including career fairs); design events; draft communications content and agency briefings.
  • Create recruitment profiles for key existing and new roles; engage with hiring managers to clarify the scope of the role, develop a role profile, and create a candidate specification; create candidate and recruitment agency briefings to attract high-quality candidates.

  • This is a remote position, and is subject to Sourcewell's telecommuting policies and procedures.
  • On occasion, may be asked to travel to Staples, MN for meetings, professional development or team activities. Potentially twice per year. Notice will be given ahead of time.
