What’s the opportunity?

A pricing operations specialist analyst works with Product, Sales and Finance people to operationalise and deliver the ideal target price for products, services, solutions & packages. It involves owning the systems and processes that underpin the order to cash workflow in the Salesforce CPQ and Billing platform, and working across the business to ensure pricing is effective.


About the role:

  • Reporting to the Head of Pricing, this role owns our Pricing Operations workflows and systems to implement and operationalise pricing decisions:
  • Manage the Salesforce pricing environment – including managing pricing data architecture, CPQ configuration, workflow processes and billing impacts of adds, moves and changes to the CPQ sales product catalogue and agreement store
  • You also care about the people using this process. You monitor trends in operations platform usage, effectiveness, adoption and implementation, analyse pricing data, facilitate data observability and hygiene.
  • The goal is to build clean processes that meet customer needs and present useful findings to decision-makers.


You will be part of a small, expert team playing a vital role in the digital transformation of Australian Health industry, and a key connector in a Product Led Salesforce practice that is a strategic growth pillar in our business.

Key Responsibilities:

Configuration and Customisation:

  • Configure and customise Salesforce CPQ workflow to meet business requirements.
  • Create and manage sales product catalogues, pricing rules, bundles, packaging and discount schedules.
  • Develop and maintain quoting and billing objects, fields, and pages.


System Management:

  • Support to deliver / automate month end tasks in partnership with Finance & Sales
  • Work with the wider internal Salesforce community to administer and maintain the Salesforce CPQ.
  • Perform regular system audits and data integrity checks.
  • Manage data configuration, and the impact on customer, product and financial outcomes.


Data Management:

  • Ensure the accuracy and consistency of data through imports, exports, and updates.
  • Develop and maintain data validation rules and workflows.


Support and Training:

  • Provide technical support to users and troubleshoot system issues.
  • Conduct training sessions for new users and provide ongoing support.
  • Create and maintain relevant user documentation and training materials.


Reporting and Analytics:

  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to monitor system performance and business metrics.
  • Analyse data to identify trends and provide insights to the product, sales and pricing teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights.


Data connections:

  • Work with IT and other departments to connect Salesforce CPQ with other systems and applications to ensure seamless data flow between systems.


Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated with Salesforce CPQ best practices and new features.
  • Identify opportunities for system enhancements and process improvements. Participate in system upgrades and testing.


Experience & Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience as a Salesforce CPQ Administrator or similar role. Salesforce CPQ certification
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce CPQ configuration and customization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in balancing long and short-term needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be a connector between the many parties required to make and implement good pricing decisions
  • Patience & ability to see long term implications of short-term requirements & opportunities. Encourage open and transparent communication with empathy & curiosity.
  • Digital software / service experience in a B2B context is a plus
