JOB DESCRIPTION:

Audubon is currently seeking a Survey Manager - Drone Services to join our Audubon Field Solutions team and grow the existing UAS Department building on the established standards we have in place and writing new ones as technology evolves in our industry. This role will be working in or supervising crews nationwide. The Survey Manager - Drone Services reports to the Director of Survey.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Keeps Operations Manager and applicable Project Manager apprised of daily survey activities.
  • Maintains cost, schedule and budget of ongoing projects and works directly with internal Project Managers on expectations for the deliverables to meet the client and project needs.
  • Process or Manage Drone data and data processing using Global Mapper, Virtual surveyor, DJI Telstra, Drone Deploy or other software for Client Deliverables.
  • Willing to grow the Drone and Advanced Technologies Department.
  • Works with the company's Registered Land Surveyor as needed to provide necessary data and information on projects where the client requires certified plats or drawings.
  • Keeps in close contact with the applicable project manager to assure a full understanding of the scope of services of projects.
  • Demonstrates the ability to lead survey crew, operate Drones (Wingrtra, Blue UAS Drones, Matrice 300 RTK), GPS, data collectors, and other surveying equipment is required for ground truthing methods.
  • Serves as a mentor, training new Pilots and Drone Survey Technicians on an as needed basis.
  • Attends kick-off meetings with the Survey Manager and clients as needed.
  • Confirms with the Project Manager that all data has been received and meets client's needs and scope of services prior to demobilizing the crew from any job site.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for the position:

  • Minimum of a High School diploma or general education degree (GED). Completion of land surveying and land law coursework desirable.
  • Requires at least 2+ years of relevant experience performing various types of Drone surveys, preliminary surveys, construction staking, as-built surveys, depth of cover surveys, topographic surveys.
  • Knowledge requirements: working knowledge of Trimble, AutoCAD, Drones (Matrice 300 RTK model preferred), Global Mapper, Virtual surveyor, DJI Telstra, and general survey equipment.
