Position Description

As a Contract Specialist, you will be responsible for the review and execution of all contracts for the Modine Data Centers – North America team. As we continue to enter new markets and advance our products for the fast-growing data center business, our ability to efficiently and effectively manage contracts is critical to our success and long-term position in the global marketplace. The ideal candidate will have experience in creating, negotiating, finalizing, and monitoring contracts for an organization.

To excel in this role, you must be able to establish the potential benefits and disadvantages of any contract. Candidates must have a comprehensive knowledge of legal terminology, an excellent command of verbal and written English, and strong attention to detail

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, review, and support negotiations and execute a wide variety of contracts covering a range of transactions
  • Internal contract reviews, making recommendations and following through on the contracts through completion of the project.
  • Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders in connection with contract generation
  • Ensure the organization's internal contract documents are accurate and well maintained
  • Maintain records for correspondence and documentation in relation to established contracts and those in progress
  • Communicate and present information to stakeholders about all contract-related matters
  • Monitor contracts and move forward with close-out, extension, or renewal according to what is best for the company
  • Collaborate with a legal team consisting of lawyers, paralegals, and office staff
  • Review contract terms and conditions to verify that they are in compliance with company policies and all applicable federal and state regulations
  • Clearly explain contract terminology to clients and other interested parties in simple, everyday language
  • Provide support and advice on potential new businesses opportunities
  • Ensure contract compliance in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures

Required Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, economics, or finance preferred
  • 3 plus years of experience in contract review and follow through or other relevant role
  • Understanding and experience of the key concepts and legal provisions of contracts
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask on several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and creatively address a wide-range of matters
  • Confidence to successfully review, make recommendations, support negotiations and execute contracts
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience in government contracts a plus
