About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join our team and play a crucial role in supporting and expanding our backend infrastructure. In this position you’ll help us scale, secure, and develop strategic projects and improve operational efficiency as our company grows. You'll work closely with our CTO & VP of Technology as well as other team members to deliver robust solutions and maintain the stability of our systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop robust backend solutions using and leveraging API’s in a flexible environment
• Be an active participant & driver in specifying new features together with developers, product owners, sales, operations, etc.
• Support business operations in quick & creative ways to iterate on solutions to day-to-day challenges and improve workflows
• Work with data storages (databases, caches, buckets, etc.) to both develop scalable features & support with strategic decision-making
• Interface with infrastructure to support the development and growth of the company
• Work closely with experienced developers and leaders invested in helping you grow into your role and expand your knowledge
  
  

About You

This role is ideal for a proactive and adaptable backend developer who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys building scalable, secure and efficient systems.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development, particularly with REST APIs, databases, and infrastructure.
• Proficient in PHP with a strong background in modern PHP frameworks (Laravel preferred)
• Experience in SQL and Redis.
• Experience in GCP (or other cloud infrastructure provider) & Docker
• Exposure to HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or TypeScript is a plus.
• Solid understanding of best practices of development (Architecture, IT Security, etc.)
• Highly organised, proactive, and solution-oriented.
• Adaptable to changing priorities and flexible in day-to-day tasks.
• Collaborative team player with excellent communication abilities.
• C1-level English proficiency (German not required but nice to have).
• Based in Germany and open to occasional visits to the office in Hamburg
