So, what will the Paralegal Specialist at Terrestris do?
As the Paralegal Specialist, you will work with the PSOB Senior Benefits Specialists, Benefits Specialists, and the PSOB Director early and often in the application / claim process to review and analyze supporting evidence, and to identify issues of fact and law, including for cases involving fatal heart attacks, strokes, or vascular ruptures and other medical conditions.
What does a typical day look like for the Paralegal Specialist?
You will:
· Review all new PSOB death and disability claims and identify any potential claim issues based on the initial submission of information following claim number assignment.
· Note the initial review in the PSOB 2.0 Portal, meet with the PSOB Director and / or Specialist to discuss the PSOB claim and identify any potential claim issues.
· Be responsible for capturing, tracking, organizing, and reporting PSOB data and metrics.
· Support the tracking and processing of PSOB cases at the Hearing Officer and BJA Director levels.
· Provide a general review of all new PSOB claim information on a weekly basis.
What qualifications do you look for?
You might be the person we’re looking for if you have:
· A Paralegal Certificate or a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in a field with legal emphasis.
· At least one (1) year of paralegal experience.
· Benefits / claims specific paralegal experience preferred.
