This is a remote position.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm PST with 1 hour unpaid break (8 hours a day)

Job Description

As a Billing and Collections Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of our cutting-edge diagnostic imaging facility. This position offers a unique blend of analytical challenge and healthcare impact, allowing you to leverage your financial acumen in a dynamic medical setting. Responsibilities
  • Spearhead the entire billing lifecycle, from initial charge creation to final payment collection, ensuring accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to optimize accounts receivable, reducing outstanding balances and improving cash flow
  • Analyze complex billing issues independently, applying critical thinking skills to resolve discrepancies and negotiate with insurance companies
  • Maintain meticulous financial records using advanced spreadsheet techniques and specialized medical billing software
  • Conduct proactive follow-ups on unpaid accounts, employing a balance of persistence and professionalism to secure timely payments
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline billing processes and enhance overall financial efficiency of the facility
  • Generate comprehensive financial reports and analytics to support strategic decision-making and identify areas for improvement
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for patients and staff on billing-related inquiries, explaining complex financial matters in an understandable manner
Requirements
  • Strong proficiency in English is essential; Spanish language skills are highly valued and will be considered a significant asset
  • Advanced computer skills, with expertise in financial software, spreadsheets, and data analysis tools
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage large volumes of data with high accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently on complex financial issues
  • Experience in medical billing, preferably in radiology or diagnostic imaging, is highly desirable
  • Flexibility to work US Pacific Time hours, which may include evening or early morning shifts
  • In-depth understanding of medical billing practices, insurance claim procedures, and healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives
  • Ability to work remotely with a high degree of self-motivation and time management skills
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on changes in healthcare billing practices and regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
