At Study Group Digital Learning we deliver our own portfolio of Digital Academic Programmes at International Foundation and Pre-Masters levels. We also support the work of the broader Study Group network by delivering Digital English Programmes and digital student experience products. Our final focus is contributing to new digital
products and learning enhancement initiatives.
The Digital Enrichment & Wellbeing Officer plays a key role in supporting students to have the best possible student experience in our digital programmes. The role also helps digital students successfully manage their wellbeing and attendance during their studies. This vital work helps digital students achieve outstanding outcomes.
Through enrichment activities, the Officer will help develop a sense of community and belonging for the digital students. They also lead sessions and contribute to weekly student briefings providing insight and guidance on non-academic topics to raise awareness before transition to the UK. They also help Digital students develop their self-confidence and resilience to overcome barriers and achieve their goals.
Student Voice is important in digital programmes. The Officer helps ensure students on digital programmes have different opportunities to provide feedback including through student surveys and Student Ambassador initiatives.
Through a home country referral model, the Officer provides practical and emotional wellbeing support to students experiencing personal problems, particularly if any of these challenges impact their studies. And, if appropriate, will guide students through the extenuating circumstances process. The Officer also supports the Digital Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) with producing risk assessments and completing other reporting
requirements including on Under 18s.
The Officer plays a vital role in ensuring excellent student attendance in synchronous live lessons and active engagement with the asynchronous self-study materials. They meticulously monitor attendance records and self-study engagement tracking to identify trends and any areas of concern in line with SGDL policy requirements. From this, they may issue attendance or engagement support or issue warnings.
ABOUT THE ROLE - Develop and deliver digital enrichment sessions and provide links to enrichment resources via Student Hubs
- Contribute to student induction planning
- Help build a sense of community through participation in weekly briefings and through facilitating other student activities
- Co-ordinate Student Voice activities including Digital Student Ambassador programme
- Provide wellbeing support for students 1:1, in small groups, or for the whole cohort. Ensure meticulous record keeping.
- Represent wellbeing and enrichment in relevant meetings, boards, committees and reports
- Support the DSL with reporting, risk assessments, and other digital safeguarding requirements including for any U18 learners.
- Help manage responses in the Student Support and Student Wellbeing inboxes
- Participate in SGDL cross-team panels or other relevant meetings or committees to represent student wellbeing and enrichment
- Support with implementation of Attendance and Engagement Policy, reporting, and any required actions
- Support with extenuating circumstances meetings and reporting
ABOUT YOU - Level 3 qualification or equivalent work experience (Desirable)
- Excellent IT skills particularly in Microsoft PowerPoint (Essential)
- Mental Health First Aid Training (Desirable but will be provided once in post)
- Assist Training (Desirable but will be provided once in post)
- Deputy Safeguarding Training (Desirable but will be provided once in post)
- Experience of working in an educational setting with students (Essential)
- Experience of reporting and tracking information (Essential)
- Experience of being flexible and working to specific deadlines (Essential)
- Experience of delivering support or enrichment or information sessions to large groups as well as smaller groups and 1:1
- Experience of safeguarding and providing wellbeing support
- Experience of facilitating community-building activities
- Experience in communicating with and liaising with multiple different stakeholders.
