Job description

Are you passionate about uncovering insights through data and driving impactful decisions? My client is seeking a dynamic Accounting and Data Analytics Specialist to join their team. This role blends accounting expertise with data analytics to support strategic initiatives, optimize processes, and deliver actionable insights. You’ll work in a collaborative environment where your analytical and communication skills will directly influence success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Preparation and Analysis: Clean, organize, and prepare data for advanced analytics and reporting.
  • Trend Analysis: Identify patterns, correlations, and key insights from data to inform decision-making.
  • Predictive Modeling: Build and maintain models to forecast costs, expenses, and other key metrics.
  • Database Management: Design, develop, and enhance databases to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
  • Visualization and Reporting: Create clear and compelling dashboards and visual reports for stakeholders.
  • Big Data Projects: Support enterprise-level data initiatives with a focus on cost and project accounting.
  • Data Cohesion: Use modeling techniques to align unstructured and semi-structured data for analysis.
  • Solution Delivery: Conduct quantitative analysis, develop actionable solutions, and implement them effectively.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Present findings and recommendations in a clear, actionable manner.

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (advanced degree preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in:
    • MS Office Suite: Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas), Access, PowerPoint, Outlook.
    • Power Products: Power BI, Power Query.
    • Data Tools: SQL, Alteryx.
  • Strong background in Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes and cost/project accounting.
  • Experience driving data insights in large, matrixed organizations.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver data-driven reports with strong analytical rigor.
  • Proficient in leveraging spreadsheet, reporting, query, and relational database software.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably PeopleSoft/Oracle Fusion.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in cost and expense accounting, with an emphasis on project accounting.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of quantitative analysis methods and ability to measure solution outcomes effectively.
  • Previous experience with systems and processes in a large corporate environment.
