Core Responsibilities

At MotherDuck, we’re not just building cloud-based data analytics; we’re hatching a revolution! We’re a tight-knit flock driven by creativity, collaboration, and results. As we expand our nest, we’re on the lookout for a savvy Founding Account Executive to take the lead in building and scaling our sales efforts. What You’ll Do:

  • Quack up new business: Prospect, engage, and close new customers, bringing them into the MotherDuck flock.

  • Lead the sales pond: Own the entire sales cycle from initial outreach through to closing, ensuring our customers see the full potential of MotherDuck’s data analytics platform.

  • Build relationships: Foster strong connections with key decision-makers and stakeholders to understand their challenges and show how we can help them soar.

  • Collaborate with the flock: Work closely with marketing, product, partners and customer success teams to provide feedback from customers and keep refining our offerings.

  • Set the pace: As a founding member of our sales team, you’ll help shape sales strategies, processes, and the broader go-to-market approach.

  • Spread your wings: Identify growth opportunities and help build a scalable sales organization for long-term success.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in SaaS sales, preferably with data analytics or cloud-based software.

  • Strong understanding of data analytics software and how it benefits businesses

  • A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas and driving revenue growth.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment where you’ll wear many feathers (hats).

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills—you know how to get a deal to fly.

  • A self-starter mentality with the drive to be one of the first on the ground, building something from the ground up.

  • A passion for data and solving real-world business challenges with cutting-edge tech.

  • Location: While we have hubs in San Francisco, Seattle and Amsterdam - we want this founding team to be located together in NYC.
