Job description

LPA is seeking a passionate Structural Project Engineer to join our integrated team of architects, engineers, interior designers, landscape architects and master planners. We are an award-winning multidisciplinary design firm that focuses on collaborative and sustainable design.  Our structural engineering group has earned top awards from the American Institute of Steel Construction and the National Council of Structural Engineers Associations (NCSEA), which honor “the most innovative projects in the world”.  

 

As a member of our structural engineering team, you will work on a broad range of projects from office, education and recreation buildings to complex laboratories, health care facilities, and performing arts centers. Structural Project Engineer Responsibilities:

  • The Project Engineer will work in unison with Project Architects, Project Designers and Project Managers to lead the project design process

  • Prepare documentation for schematic design, design development and construction documents

  • Quality control research for product and construction methods related to projects

  • Lead the construction administration process

  • Mentor-ship from Managing Directors and Design Directors

 

Structural Project Engineer Requirements:

  • Proficiency in RAM, RISA and ETABs required. Good knowledge of Revit encouraged

  • Strong technical, code and detailing skills for quality documentation

  • Enthusiastic commitment to the multidisciplinary design process and team environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and an enthusiasm for using those skills on projects

  • Ability to lead structural design projects with mentor-ship from Project Manager along with the ability to guide and mentor less-expensive team members. 

 

Structural Project Engineer Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering required, Master’s Degree encouraged

  • 5-12 years of experience in all phases of building design

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required, Structural Engineering (SE) license encouraged

The salary range for this position is $87,000 - $145,000 and is eligible for an annual bonus. If you are hired at LPA, your base salary is based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience and/or project complexity. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
