Overview:
Our State Government Practice Group is looking for a Senior Consultant to join our team as a contingent hire, serving state government clients. You will support our Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) team to provide project oversight of statewide WIde Area Network (WAN) implementations. You will report to the IV&V project manager within the State Government Practice Group team.
Travel Expectations: While the work for the initial projects will be primarily remote, candidates must be willing to travel 50% of the time for future projects.
You Will:
- Collaborate with team members to plan, develop and implement project activities to achieve project and client goals
- Lead and/or support compliance effort, analyzing requirements, assessing deliverables, communicating findings to clients
- Lead and/or support IV&V reviews and reporting
- Identification and reporting of project risks and issues based on meeting observation, document review, and interviews with client teams
- Prepare and/or edit status reports, executive briefings, and presentations for IV&V findings and recommendations to improve the client's WAN implementation project
- Interact with team members for preparation of progress report, submission of deliverables, and action items
- Identify potential risks and issues to project success
- Facilitate meetings with client and their system integrator
- Develop and present client communications, both written and verbal
You Have:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS). May substitute four years of applicable experience for degree
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Technical and/or project management experience related to implementation of WAN. Other IT Network or hardware projects also advantageous
- Knowledgeable on IT networks, WAN/LAN, centralized IT offices, IT governance, etc.
- Knowledge on technical software implementation subjects, including data migration, requirement management, system testing, system integrations, operations and maintenance, and security
- Ability to balance multiple assignments and achieve quality results in a timely manner required
- Ability to create and sustain positive working relationships with staff and diverse constituencies and work independently as well as collaboratively as required
- Strong written and verbal communication including tactful communications with difficult messages
- Ability to review compliance language and perform gap analysis
- Excellent analytic, problem-solving and organizational skills required
- Demonstrated proactive risk identification skills
- Demonstrated ability to excel in a team setting
- Certifications such as CAPM, PMP, Agile Practitioner, Scrum Master, etc. preferred
- Experience working in consulting preferred
- Experience working with state governments preferred, especially on IT projects
- Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Compensation Details:
The base salary range targeted for this role is $90,000 - $130,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications in excess of the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
