Job description

Job Summary:

Aptive seeks an experienced Program Director with a strong background in emergency response management to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The Program Director will be responsible for leading the Aptive team in all aspects of project work related to conceptualizing,
planning, researching, developing, designing, implementing, disseminating, and evaluating the effectiveness of public health preparedness activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

This role will provide overall direction of program activities, including organizing, directing, and managing all aspects of contract operational support functions involving multiple complex and inter-
related project tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


10 years of relevant project management experience with the federal government and/or in
emergency preparedness.
Master’s degree and PMP.
Experience supporting emergency preparedness efforts.
Experience supporting large, complex federal agencies; ideally CDC or HHS.

Strategic thinker with a drive to get all types of work done and a high attention to detail.
Demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning, organizational designs, change management,
policy, risk management, performance management, knowledge management, training,
coaching and mentoring.
Attained credential and demonstrated proficiency in Project Management, Organizational
Change Management, or similar principles.
Certified in emergency management and/or has experience working in the emergency
management field
Experience in managing complex projects for a federal agency; CDC or HHS preferred.
Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues.
Desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.

• Excellent ability to communicate (written and verbally) across most mediums and settings.
• Experience preparing and managing integrated project initiatives, performing major decision
making, solution development, analysis and evaluation, and risk mitigation.
• Ability to manage, lead and motivate a small to mid-sized team of professional staff.
• Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation communications skills.
• Experience with business process and system improvement projects and efforts, including
building organizational alignment around new systems and tools.
• Excellent project management skills and attention to detail; ability to work collaboratively in
teams managing multiple projects with complex deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
