Under the direction of the PHP Director of Finance � Reporting and Operations, this position is responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising all activities as they relate to month-end GAAP reporting, Statutory reporting, operational and medical cost reporting, process improvement and special projects.

*Directly responsible for the selection, training, development, and evaluation of employees.
*Performs the day-to-day management of employees to meet departmental goals, create an environment which fosters employee involvement, growth, satisfaction and ability to function effectively with colleagues.
*Maintains relationships with all levels of leadership and staff to coordinate activities, to provide necessary education, to supply input and feedback and function as a subject-matter expert for the reporting functions of the Finance department.
*Manages, plans, and coordinates the monthly closing process, general ledger reporting and analysis, and the preparation of monthly balance sheet and income statement. Includes the verification and authentication of information received from the other sources, adjusting and reclassifying journal entries, and the preparation and distribution of various reports.
*Ensures that month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial reports are accurate, analyzed and reviewed as it related to medical costs.
*Responsible for the development, planning, coordination and supervision of statutory reporting, desk audits of medical vendors, and other required reporting such as Medical Loss Ratio reporting.
*Responsible for supervision over the accounting and payments made to third-party medical vendors.
*Responsible for identifying key data needs and building meaningful reporting to ensure management has appropriate information to make informed decisions.
*Coordinates and assists in the conduction of annual external audits including the preparation of required work papers.
*Assists in other compliance reporting to governmental agencies and other third parties as necessary including responsibility for reviewing financial reporting to the NAIC and OSI, ensuring compliance with requirements, accuracy and timeliness of reports.
*Establish, implement and maintain operational processes including departmental policies, procedures and new systems.
*Identifies opportunities to automate and streamline operational processes, develops standard templates and reports.
*Responsible for ad-hoc projects as needed.
*Performs other functions as required.
