Outline of the job
The Grants Manager will play a pivotal role in the effective management of grants under our USAID portfolio. This position will be responsible for the end-to-end grants management process, from proposal development and grantee selection to monitoring, compliance, and reporting. The Grants Manager will work closely with program teams, sub-grantees, and USAID to ensure that all grants are implemented successfully and in alignment with the organisation's mission and USAID regulations.
The Grants Manager should ideally be based in Tbilisi, Georgia. While this job is predominantly remote, several in person meetings are envisaged to take place in Tbilisi, Georgia.
What you’ll be doing:
Grant Award and Compliance: Manage the selection process for grant recipients, ensure they meet eligibility criteria, and oversee the grant award process. Ensure compliance with USAID regulations and the organisation's internal policies.
Sub-Grantee Capacity Building: Provide guidance and support to sub-grantees in areas of financial management, project implementation, and compliance.
Financial Management: Oversee grantee financial management, including budget tracking, fund disbursements, and financial reporting.
Reporting: Coordinate and ensure timely compliance with reporting obligations by grantees, including sending reminders, collecting financial and narrative reports, and identifying the appropriate team members to review narrative reports. Prepare and submit regular and ad-hoc reports to USAID, providing accurate and timely information on grant implementation and outcomes.
Grant Proposal Development: Collaborate with potential program grantees to ensure that grant proposals and budgets are accurately prepared and fully comply with donor requirements, eligibility criteria, and internal organisational policies.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to grant implementation and take proactive steps to mitigate them.
Knowledge Sharing: Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices among grantees to enhance program effectiveness.
Capacity Building: Train and mentor program staff and grantees in grants management, compliance, and reporting.
Requirements
What we need from you…
· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Master's degree preferred).
· At least 5 years of experience in grants management, preferably with USAID-funded projects.
· Strong knowledge of USAID rules and regulations, including 2 CFR 200.
· Experience in developing and managing grant budgets.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Georgian and English.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
· Proficiency in relevant software and systems for grants management would be desirable.
